Defroster nozzle flap vacuum element, function

Function

When the defroster button ( ) is pressed the switchover valve for the defroster flaps in the switchover valve block (Y11/3) is actuated.
This releases the defroster nozzle flap vacuum element (38) (no vacuum present, 100 % open).
The defroster nozzle flap vacuum element (38) is the only vacuum element opened without vacuum.
This fail-safe feature prevents the windshield from fogging up even in the event of a defect in the vacuum system.
